It’s been a busy year for our first product manager as he works to manage the continuous development and improvement of our Bullhorn products.

Kyloe appoint Product Manager as part of investment in product offering

Earlier this year, Gordon Robinson was tasked with driving the development of our range of Bullhorn products forward. As our first Product Manager, this appointment signifies the launch of an initiative to transform our internal processes and enhance our products, further increasing the benefits to our clients.

Lauren Miller (Marketing Manager, Kyloe), caught up with Gordon to learn more about what impacts we can expect to see.

Lauren Miller: Hi Gordon, I hope you’ve had a good first few months at Kyloe – can you tell us a bit more about your role?

Gordon Robinson: Hi Lauren, as with any growing company, it’s been a busy time and a dynamic place to be! With 300+ clients and around 50,000 product interactions each month Kyloe had reached the stage where the products were becoming as prominent as the implementation and custom side of the business. I’ve been brought in to manage the continuous development and improvement of these products and to ensure they meet the needs that clients face today and in the future.

Since starting, I’ve spent a lot of time carrying out market research and understanding trends, and I’ve applied this to roadmap building and strategic planning. As part of this research I’ve not only focused on the recruitment sector but also on digital transformation and user experience in general so that we can bring learnings from other industries and apply it to our own thinking.

Ordinarily, I’d have been out and about visiting our clients but due to COVID-19 this has been physically impossible. I’ve been doing a lot of video and phone calls with them instead which has been really helpful in surfacing the challenges that our clients are facing, and then collaborating with our team of developers to design solutions that will solve them.
LM: It’s great to have you on board. What’s the highlight of your time been for far?

GR: The world of recruitment is continuously evolving, and I’ve really enjoyed getting stuck in, absorbing plenty of new knowledge and blending it with my existing product management and healthcare experience.

My highlight so far is transforming the way that we’re managing product releases. We’ve had the opportunity to strip everything back and start from scratch – working with the Directors and Managers across the business to review our processes and what does and doesn’t work. From there, we’ve been able to become a lot more proactive in how we’re delivering releases, fixes, and launches. We’ve also adopted a new piece of tech for managing project work in product development and have made a few internal moves – the company is working very differently to what it was just a few months ago!

The way that all of these changes have been embraced by Kyloe is an absolute dream – it’s a great place and team to be working with.
LM: What is the vision for Kyloe's products?

GR: In staffing, speed is everything and the need for digital and automated processes will only become more important, particularly with the increase in remote working that we’re seeing.

My main vision is to focus on the areas of greatest need – right now these are document automation, and data validation and improvement. These are two of the biggest time sucks for staffing firms and improvement is vital for efficiency.

We’re looking at ways of enhancing our existing Kyloe AwesomeDocs and Kyloe DataTools products to combat this issue. Both are receiving significant people investment and we have some exciting new features and updates coming that I can’t say much more about right now, but that we’re looking forward to sharing with the market soon!
